Day Training Programs

Our most popular training service—Savvy School!

Daily training that takes place five days a week, Monday-Friday, for around 5 hours each day. This type of consistency allows us to build a meaningful training foundation with your dog and progress much faster than traditional lessons. Think of it like a board & train, without having to send your dog away!

Your dog becomes the focus of our pack and daily routine. We are lifestyle dog trainers, so we put dogs into real life situations and coach them through it. By getting the proper training repetitions in, we are able to build a solid obedience foundation for you.

We also prioritize working with you, the owner! At the end of each week, all of us work together to ensure success with you AND your dog.

Currently, this service is only offered to Petaluma, Cotati, and Rohnert Park customers. If you live outside this service area, contact us for Private Lessons or a Board & Train.

This program is tailored for owners aiming for exceptional obedience in their dogs while fostering a healthy, happy mindset, both on and off-leash. It is an ideal choice for those looking to enhance their dog's overall behavior. However, our main priority is creating a healthy state of mind. If your dog exhibits quirks such as reactivity, anxiety, excessive barking, intense pulling on the leash, or generally lacks manners, then this program is designed for you and your dog!

Your dog will learn five obedience commands: Sit, Down, Place, Heel, and Come. All of these commands will be proofed around distractions and out in the real world. We'll also address behavioral issues like jumping, pulling, counter-surfing, mouthing, nuisance barking, reactivity, aggression, etc.

This is a remote collar program. Additional week(s): $600

What Our Programs Provide

  • The Walk

    We help make walks enjoyable again! One of the first things we tackle with any dog is leash manners. All dogs are taught a proper heel and held accountable for any unfavorable behaviors.

    Polite at Thresholds

    We instill pausing at thresholds and waiting for permission before entering/exiting. This is helps with excitability, bolting, reactivity, and so much more!

    (Thresholds = Going in/out doors, kennels, cars)

    Outings

    We love taking dogs on field trips! Outings are a great way to put a dog’s skills to the test in social settings. Public access training is one of our specialties.

    Place Command

    The place command is one of the most life-changing hacks for dog owners. Utilizing place for dogs instills discipline, self-restraint, and confidence. Not only is it a convenient training tool, but it also helps with behavioral issues.

    Socialization

    We offer pack walking 5x a week. Moving as a pack brings out instinctual canine behavior, so we use this opportunity to lead and train them. Structured socialization is one the best ways for dogs to interact.

    Reliable Recall

TRAINING TOOLS: We utilize high quality training tools to ensure success with you and your dog. We always prioritize positive reinforcement, however, we firmly believe in using all 4 quadrants of dog training. IF you would like us to disregard any tools, we can do so… just be prepared for different expectations when it comes to your dogs training.

  • Modern E Collars have come a long way compared to traditional shock collars. E Collar Technologies crafts units that are muscle stimulators, very similar to a TENS unit. Unlike a shock collar, this E Collar has up to 100 levels, allowing the user to tailor the stimulation based on their dog’s temperament, behaviors, and situations.

    When training, we utilize very low levels to help reinforce commands. This opens up the opportunity for off-leash training! Most dogs respond beautifully to low levels and stay under 20/100. Because this unit is so customizable and safe, when corrective or higher levels are needed, it can be done efficiently. The E Collar becomes our solid line of communication.

Slip Lead & Prong Collar

  • Walking your dog is a necessity, and leash laws are in place for a reason. When it comes to walking dogs, we have 2 leash set-ups that we prefer (and recommend).

    Most owners walk their dogs with constant tension (pressure) on the leash... we strive for the opposite! We utilize equipment that is handler activated- slip leads & prong collars only tighten when the handler pops or pulls on the leash. This allows us to teach dogs what to do when they feel pressure on the leash & how to release it.

    By teaching your dog a loose-leash walk, you'll witness a significant reduction in undesirable behaviors, leading to a more enjoyable walking experience.

  • The Slip Lead is our tried-and-true training tool. We love the slip lead because its handler activated, a breeze to put on, and dogs cannot slip out of it. (You would not believe how many dogs we've witnessed slip out of their collars and harnesses)

    The Slip Lead is meant to be worn high, up behind the ears, and held in place with a stopper. It can also be twisted into a figure 8 over the dog's nose and create a head halter/gentle leader. 2-in-1!

    We have 2 brands that we love:

  • The prong collar consists of numerous metal links, plates, and rings. The metal links provide multiple contacts points, placed harmoniously along the dog's neck. All the contact points allow pressure to be evenly distributed throughout the whole collar. (A flat collar does the opposite of a prong collar. It puts all the pressure in one place... your dog's trachea!)

    When used correctly, fit properly and up high on a dog’s neck, it enables us to fine tune movements and behaviors. Brand matters! We only use and recommend the highest of quality prong collars - Herm Sprenger. HS has been manufacturing high-quality products for horse, dog, and boat sports for 150 years. The contact points on HS prong collars are rounded, compared to knock-off brands where the points are flat and blunt. Prong Collars do not puncture the skin.
