Understanding Reactivity vs. Aggression

Reactivity often stems from fear, frustration, or overstimulation. It might look like barking or lunging on leash, but it's not always rooted in aggression. True aggression involves intent to cause harm and can be more complex—but both issues can be addressed with expert training and the right environment.

Signs of reactivity or aggression may include:

  • Leash lunging at other dogs or people

  • Growling or snapping when approached

  • Overarousal or panic in public

  • Resource guarding (toys, food, space)

  • Aggressive outbursts at home or on walks

You don’t have to figure it out alone.
